WHEW! What a weekend! Our weekend defined what is summer to us- time spent with family, time in the sun, time at the zoo and lots of swimming. Absolute bliss.
We started off Friday right with pizza night at my Aunt Teri's and Uncle Dave's- joining us were my Grandpa and Grandma Batesole, my cousin, his wife and two kids, and my mom and sister. We grilled pizzas, chatted and enjoyed Moscow Mules (the adults, not the kiddos) - Thanks Jacque- they were delicious! The kids ran outside and played and the adults got to talk a little about our upcoming family trip to ITALY next Summer! To say we are all excited would be an understatement. What an opportunity given to us by my grandparents and we are so thankful for it.

On Saturday, we woke up bright and early and packed to head to Omaha. We went to the Omaha Zoo and spent the entire day walking around and checking out the animals. Of course, the train and the aquarium were big hits! We wrapped the day off with staying at the Ramada, which included admission to Coco Keys Water Resort. The girls LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the water park- and even after a tiring day at the zoo- they hit the water slides and swam like nobody's business. It was a fantastic stay- tons of stuff to do and the rooms were nice. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a weekend away! |

On Sunday, we woke up, and met my friend Chelsea for brunch at a restaurant in the Old Market. It was great catching up quickly before heading back to DSM. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and catching up laundry and doing some cleaning. At one point, around 5PM, I walked into Sophia's room to this: |

And now, I might just need a vacation from the weekend! We had an awesome weekend and truly had the best time! This is what Summer is all about! We look forward to another week of swim lessons!
