It's been awhile since I've posted so I thought I'd do a life lately post.... we've been doing all the Fall things and trying to catch up with Iowa's weather... summer one day, winter cold the next.
So, here's a little life lately!!
We hit our 1 year of living in our home- can't believe it's been a year already! It seems like it went fast yet, like we've lived here all along!

It is exactly what I was looking for and we get it this weekend! I'm so excited to see it come together! We'd had our other furniture since we moved into our townhome (now 8 years ago) and it was time for a change! Not to mention with kids and a dog--- it was well loved, let's just say!
Of course, since it's October, we've done our Fall decorating!
And last weekend, we were looking for an ottoman or floor pouf type thing for our family room and I saw these darling pumpkin bowls... and couldn't resist. At first, I hesitated because how often can one use pumpkin bowls?! But in the short week we've had them, we've already used them twice. They are perfect for Fall and I simply adore them!

Football season is also in full swing and while you know this if you're a Cyclone fan, life can be difficult. But, the Cyclones have pulled out some exciting wins!
We are also super excited for the upcoming basketball season- while we have a newer, young team- we're excited for what's to come!
We got to head to Ames to see the new players and get excited for Cyclone basketball!

If you've been reading along here for a while you may remember that one of my goals was to
F I N A L L Y clean out our basement storage area. It continued to be that annoying, nagging thing always in the back of my head that I knew I needed to do but kept putting off. But the more I put it off, the more it nagged me. So, one chilly, lazy Saturday, I drug William down and we got to work. Surprisingly, it wasn't as horrible as I imagined and we had it cleaned and organized in less than an hour!
Part of me feels deeply ashamed at the state it got to be.. and I'm horrified that I'm showing you these "before" pictures, but here we go!!
Just seeing these pictures fill me with dread and anxiety but then......
the light!
It is amazing all the extra space we have that we didn't know we had! Now, it's actually a functional space and I don't dread going down there to get something or to put something away! I can't tell you how GOOD it feels to have that HUGE nuisance out of the way!
Naturally, all this cleaning and organizing gave us the itch to go furniture shopping! I've been pinning some ideas to Pinterest and here's some inspiration pictures for our living room that I've been looking at:
